Former Punjab minister of forest and wildlife and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Muhammad Sibtain Khan from Mianwali on Tuesday again took oath as provincial minister in a ceremony here at the Governor's House.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar administered the oath. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, provincial ministers Raja Mohammad Basharat, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed, Dr Akhtar Malik, Sardar Husnain Dareshak, Syed Sumsam Bokhari, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed, Sardar Asif Nakai and Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan, and MPA Mussarat Jamshaid Cheema, Chief Secretary Maj Azam Suleman (r), Punjab IG Police Shoaib Dastgir and Principal Secretary to Punjab Governor Dr Rashid Mansoor and political and social figures were also present on the occasion.

It may be noted that on June 14, 2019, NAB had arrested Sibtain Khan for awarding illegal contracts. After which he resigned as Punjab minister.

Sibtain Khan who also served as minister for minerals in 2007 was blamed for the illegal award of a multi-billion rupee contract for 500 metric tonnes of iron ore in Rajwah and Chiniot to a company of his choice called Earth Resource Pvt Ltd. The contract, which deviated from existing laws, was awarded to ERPL through connivance with other suspects, the NAB said. The company was awarded the contract despite not having previous experiencing in mining.
