Emir Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that his party's Central Executive Committee (CEC) has endorsed the decision of the JUI-F's parliamentary party of not supporting the amendments to the Army Act.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday after chairing the meeting of the CEC of JUI-F, Maulana said that his party is not in the favor of to vote in the support the amendments to the Army Act.

The Maulana said that his party has reviewed the proposed amendments on two dimensions including draft of the amendments along with the contents and the expected approval of the act from the Parliament. He added that the CEC of the JUI-F has endorsed the decisions made by the parliamentary party which is to reject the proposed amendments to the act. He said that his party has also rejected the so-called reforms in the religious seminaries. He said that the government is trying to create a negative picture of the religious seminaries in the society in the name of so-called reforms.
