Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Port Qasim has collected Rs 328.30 billion during first six months of current financial year, surpassing its revenue target of Rs 307.16 billion by 6.44 percent.

According to details, the MCC Port Qasim has witnessed revenue collection of Rs 328.30 billion till the end of second quarter of ongoing fiscal year, which is 6.44 percent higher than the assigned revenue target of Rs 307.16 billion.

The MCC, Port Qasim, which collected Rs 103.35 billion on account of customs duty during the period, remained Rs 16.38 billion short to achieve assigned target of Rs 119.74 billion, depicting a decline of 15.85 percent. Moreover, the Collectorate has witnessed 25.23 percent and 19.61 percent growth with the collection of Rs 191.38 billion and Rs 3.219 billion from sales tax and federal excise duty, respectively. However, the collection made from income tax remained Rs 11.3 billion short, showing 37.55 percent decline as compared to the assigned target of Rs 41.7 billion for first six months of the current financial year. The collection on last day of 2019 stood at Rs 1.95 billion, of which Rs 1.93bn was collected under sales tax while remaining Rs 20.23 million was generated from additional sales tax.
