Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday lashed out at "NAB-Niazi nexus" following National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested party's secretary general and former Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal Sports City (NSC) case.

Talking to reporters after the arrest of Ahsan Iqbal, party spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb alleged that the latest arrest is the "masterpiece" of NAB-Niazi nexus, saying that the party will continue to speak like before on the "incompetence" of the government.

"The only fault of Ahsan Iqbal is that he is Nawaz Sharif's companion and he speaks truth and loves the people of Pakistan," she said, alleging that the NAB is working at the "behest of Prime Minister Imran Khan."

"Do whatever you want to do. Arrest more and threaten someone else, but you cannot bow the PML-N down which is the party of Nawaz Sharif. It doesn't get scared and doesn't sell itself," she maintained.

She further maintained that all those who are "capable and truthful" are in jails, adding that the party will continue calling out the "incompetence" of the incumbent government.

The PML-N spokesperson regretted that the NAB has continued a silence over the Peshawar BRT project, which has been lying in the doldrums.

"Why don't chairman NAB go after those involved in the Peshawar BRT project?" she asked.

She further alleged the Prime Minister for "misusing" his authority with regard to delaying tactics in the investigation of the BRT project.

"If anyone has misused authority, it is Imran Khan," she further alleged.

Further criticizing the government, she maintained that PML-N will not hand over the country to the "incompetent" people.

"This country belongs to the 220 millions people of the country and not of a handful people," she added.

She further maintained that Ahsan Iqbal has nothing to do with Narowal Sports City (NSC) project, adding that the project was initiated in the Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) tenure and was facing several irregularities.

She said that the PML-N after coming into power revived the project and Ahsan Iqbal played a crucial part in its renovation.

She further said that it is "shameful" to arrest a person who has undergone a surgery three days back, adding that the surgery was related to the incident last year in May where an assailant made a assassination attempt on the then Interior minister in his own constituency, Narowal.

Responding to a question, she said that PML-N will no longer cooperate with the NAB, adding: "Cooperation with the NAB means to stay quiet and refrain from speaking the truth."

She further maintained the days of the PTI government have been numbered, adding: "Prime Minister Imran Khan's government will soon be sent packing,"

Criticizing the PTI government's economic policies, she alleged that the government has sold the country to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) while the "incompetence" continues to add to the problems of the people.
