PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that they are going to launch a final round of struggle for the establishment of peoples' rule and real democracy in the country from December 27.

He was addressing a workers' convention here at the residence of PPP leader and former Speaker KP Assembly Kiramatullah Khan Chagarmati on Saturday. Others who addressed were included PPP senior vice chairman, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, general secretary Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Faisal Karim Kundi, Malik Azmat, Malik Tehmas Khan, Syed Ayub Shah, Liaquat Shabab and Sher Azam Wazir.

Bilawal said that the party has decided to observe the death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, the place of the martyrdom of their leader and announced that the third generation of the Bhutto family is coming to the garrison city.

He said that their leadership had rendered sacrifices for democracy and rights of the people. He said that struggle was not battled for trapping into the slavery of the selected (PM).

He said that last 30 years, the country has not conducted free and fair polls and said that after 1988 and 2008 polls, the PPP formed governments despite reservations of rigging while the same irregularities were committed in other elections and in 2002 the election was snatched from the party.

The PPP chairman said that the general elections of 2013 were Returning Officers (ROs) manipulated polls while in 2018 despite legislation for ensuring transparency in the polling process, the election were rigged and instead of election a PM was brought to power through selection.

He said that today neither media nor politics is free as the interviews of the terrorists can run on the media, but not of the democratically elected former President of Pakistan. Therefore, he said they had decided to organize the main function of the death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi and prove on the world that the power belongs to the masses and only their well will reign supreme in the country.

Bilawal Bhutto said that PPP during its stints in power had served the poor segment of society and had operated people-friendly government. He added that PPP had always remained the champion of the economic rights of the poor and the launching of the revolutionary poor-friendly Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is ample proof in this regard. He said that since the launching of that program no poor-friendly initiative has been taken by its predecessors.

He further said that PPP during its government increased the wheat support price that turned the food deficient country into wheat self-sufficient state. But, today an economic murder of the farmers is going on in the country.

Bilawal recalled that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto provided employment to people during his government and issued passports to common man to open the doors of overseas employment on them. He said that any comparison between the present government and PPP governments will prove that it was their governments that provided maximum employment opportunities to the people.

He said that those making commitments of providing employment opportunities for 10 million people are out to render people unemployed and instead of constructing 50 million houses are snatching roofs from the people in the name of anti-encroachment operations.

The PPP chairman said those speaking against foreign assistance are now forcing people on suicide. He said that PPP during its government increased pensions of the retired employees by 120%, salaries by 150% and salaries of the personnel of armed forces by 175%.

He said that on December 27, they will reiterate that the government should follow the well of the people. He said that the PTI is ruling in KP since last seven years, but it had neither established any university or hospital. He urged the people to compare the health sectors of Sindh province with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
