Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has observed that the silence of United Nations and other international organisations over extremism and tyranny shown by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is appalling.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony regarding minorities' rights here on Thursday. He said in Pakistan the minorities were enjoying religious freedom; "Kartarpur corridor project for the Sikh community is reflects Pakistan's commitment to its minorities," he added.

In comparison, he said, Modi government was targeting the Muslims and other minorities in India and its law regarding dual nationality was in violation of human rights. "The Modi government is following an agenda of extremism. The siege of the Muslims in the Indian Occupied Kashmir and human rights violations are unethical, unconstitutional and inhuman act," he said.

"Instead of taking a strict notice of the Indian atrocities and human rights violations, sadly the United Nations and other international organizations remain silent. Our enemy (India) is shrewd, clever and racist and thus we all have to get united against it so as to foil all its designs," he added.

He warned India of a strong reply if it resorts to any adventurism; "the people of Pakistan are standing with their Armed Forces for the defence and security of their motherland," he added.

Meanwhile, while addressing the senior civil servants at National School of Public Policy, the Governor said that good governance is vital for overcoming the challenge of corruption; the PTI government believes in ending political pressure on the national institutions and strengthening.

This will stabilize the country and nation," he added. "The civil servants should be people-friendly and sympathetic; your liaison with the people should be based on good moral behaviour," he asserted.
