Little did the BJP government know that its another highly controversial and anti-Muslim move will backfire in such a violent manner as protests over a new Indian citizenship law based on religion have spread to students campuses in various states. The Narendra Modi government has no plausible argument for pushing partisan agenda in conflict with the country's founding as a secular republic.
Modi's Hindu rashtra pursuit has in fact triggered the process of disintegration of the Indian union. His August 5 Kashmir action has already earned him global censure - directly or indirectly. It is about time Modi and his right-hand man Amit Shah read writing on the wall. They must be aware that something profoundly bad will certainly happen soon.
