The President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), Sheikh Umer Rehan has urged Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to take personal interest in resolving concerns of industries relating to Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB). "We know that our CM always gives priority to resolve the issues faced by business community," he added.

He slammed KWSB for its inaction and irresponsible attitude to provide water supply and sewerage services to industries.

He urged the CM to take immediate corrective measures and decide about the fate of this civic agency.

Sheikh Umer Rehan added that during last two months more the 80 complaint pertaining to water supply and sewerage problems were forwarded to the MD of KWSB from Korangi Industrial Area but he didn't bother to respond to these distress calls.

He noted that Murad Ali Shah has always taken personal interest in resolving issues faced by industries. "we urge the CM Sindh to take immediate notice of extremely bad performance by this civic agency," he added.

He said while the country's economy facing hard times and need improved industrial production and business activity, it is ironic that insufficient water supply and incompetence of KWSB has badly hit industrial production of Korangi Industrial Area.

He said that industries and citizens are voicing grave concern over the KWSB's poor working. It is high time that the Sindh government direct the civic agency to put its house in order or face action, he maintained.
