Before testing Pakistan, India should remember Feb 27 consequences: DG ISPR

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has warned India that before testing Pakistan, it should remember the consequences of February 27 airstrikes in which Pakistan Air Force downed two Indian Air Force jets.

Addressing a press conference on Monday about the recent tensions with India and the security situation, the DG ISPR said that it has been two months since the Pulwama attack and since then India has tried speaking countless lies.

The DG ISPR reiterated that Pakistan cleared it to India that it was not involved in Pulwana incident. He added that Pakistan even took international media to the site of the Indian airstrikes in Balakot to expose India's fake claim of killing 300 people.

He further said that India later on changed their statement and instead claimed that they had used a small-scale missile that bore a tiny hole in the ceiling of the building and then exploded inside. The DG ISPR continued that Pakistan again offers to take Indian media to the site of the attack.

Speaking about India claiming to have shooting down PAF's F-16, the DG ISPR said that even a report in an American news publication had revealed that no PAF's F-16s were missing. "Since India has good terms with US, it should ask it to issue a statement admitting that Pakistan's F-16 is missing," he added.

The DG ISPR further said that if India still wants to engage, it should then remember the consequences of the fall of its jet in February 27 airstrikes. He said nuclear power is a weapon of deterrence, however, if aggression is carried out, Pakistan has the right to use any weapon in its defence.

The DG ISPR warned India not to test the resolve of Pakistan, "Pakistan Army with the support of its 207 million people will defend the country if and when required," the DG ISPR added.

Appreciating Pakistani media, the DG ISPR said that the media had acted responsibly and played the best possible role in the situation.
