NAB raids Shehbaz Sharif’s house to arrest Hamza Shehbaz

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) raided on Friday Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif's house in Lahore.

According to local media reports, Leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz was also present in the house 96 H, at Model Town. NAB has raised the house of the leader in order to arrest Hamza, local media reported. However, the bureau did not take Hamza into their custody.

Following the raid, PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that a seven to eight member team conducted the raid without any warning at the residence. The PML-N leader questioned that are the father and son terrorists that the bureau was raiding the house, adding that NAB raided the house without any warrant.

Leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz said on Friday that Prime Minister Imran Khan should search for thieves within his own cabinet which he is hiding.

Speaking to the media after NAB's raid Hamza said that  for the first time he had felt like a terrorist the way NAB conducted his house. He said if the bureau wanted to arrest him they could, but there were some laws and rules to follow. He said the bureau had done a shameful act and from now on, no one's respect is safe from NAB.

He said he has the court order which states that NAB should inform 10-day prior to arresting him. The opposition leader said that he was not afraid of PM Khan and that he should fight on political grounds.

Hamza is facing inquiry into the Ramzan Sugar Mills, Punjab Saaf Pani Company and assets beyond known source of income cases.
