Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said that Kashmir is the flashpoint for peace in the prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan.

In an interview to CNN, the DG ISPR said that during the end of February, the two counties were on the brink of war due to India's aggression. He maintained that if India resorts to aggression, Pakistan will respond. He further said that Pakistan had returned India's pilot as a peace gesture.

He maintained that instead of playing the blame game, India should focus on de-escalating tensions and move forward for peace. DG ISPR further said that the only way the tension between the two countries will be over is if Kashmir issue is solved.

He contended that India was targeting Kashmiri people in Indian occupied Kashmir and blinding the youth there with pellet gun. Kashmiri women were being mistreated by India, he said, adding that this was not his own account of the mistreatment by the Indian forces, but it was even written in a United Nation report.
