Monsoon with weakening system is gripping upper parts, as hot and humid weather is expected across the country, the Met Office said on Saturday. However, rain and wind-thunderstorm are likely in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Sargodha Divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. "Weak seasonal low lies over northeast Balochistan. Weak monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is also present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 02 to 03 days," the met added.
In the last 24 hours: Weather remained hot and humid in the most parts of the country. However, isolated rain and wind-thunderstorm occurred in Peshawar, Kohat, Malakand, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Rawalpindi. Gujranwala received the maximum rainfall as 11 mm, followed by Islamabad Golra 10 mm and Saidpur 5 mm. Sibbi was the hottest place with 43 degrees Celsius, Noorpur Thal and Dadu 42, each, Faisalabad and Multan 39 degrees Celsius, each, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad and Hyderabad 38, each, Lahore 37, Quetta 35, Islamabad and Karachi 34, each.
