Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has empowered the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) FBR Inland Revenue Cell to seek information from Board, field formations and directorates, besides having access to record, for collection of data pertaining to the FATF related activities. The FATF FBR Inland Revenue Cell would now operate under the supervision of director general, Intelligence & Investigation (Inland Revenue) Islamabad.
According to a notification issued by the FBR here on Friday, a Financial Action Task Force (FATF FBR-IR) Cell is hereby constituted to ensure effective and timely completion of FATF related Action Plan and is placed under the director general, Intelligence & Investigation-IR, Islamabad. The FATF (FBR-IR) Cell will serve as focal point for all activities related to Inland Revenue for FA TF issues. The FATF (FBR-IR) Cell may seek information required for FATF related work from the Board, field formations, directorates and record of meetings. The head of field formations/ directorates are requested to create enabling environment for this unit considering its sensitive nature.
The following officers/officials of the Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation-Inland Revenue are hereby assigned additional charges of respective posts in the FATF (FBR-IR) Cell at FBR (Hqrs), in addition to duties of their present place of posting with immediate effect and until further orders: Director (HQ) Ijlal Khattak, Additional Director (HQ) Zahid Bhatti, Deputy Director-l Sarwat Habib Malik, Sr Auditor Yasir Shah, IIR Rizwan Shahzad, and Assistant Muhammad Yousaf.
