President Speaker Parliament of Uganda and President CPA Rebecca Kadaga and Chairperson CPA Executive Committee and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Cameroon Emilia Manjowa Lifaka separately met Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, in Parliament House here on Monday. The matters related to the conduct of 5th Asian Regional CPA Conference were discussed. Speaker National Assembly and the CPA President and Chairperson CPA Executive Committee agreed that the instant Parliamentary Conference was an opportunity for cementing ties between the CPA fraternity, says a press release issued here.
President CPA of Speaker Parliament of Uganda and President CPA Rebecca Kadaga said that Uganda had always considered Pakistan its ally at all international forums. She said that Uganda attaches immense importance to its relations with Pakistan and wants to further consolidate them through diversification of existing ties. She also suggested for exchange of delegations and parliamentary staff.
Lifaka said that Cameroon hold special importance to its relations with Pakistan since Pakistan had always extended its support at CPA level as well as other international forums. The speaker National Assembly said that Pakistan also attaches importance to its relations with African Countries especially Uganda and Cameroon. He said that enhancing parliamentary interaction through Friendship Groups would further consolidate existing bilateral ties. The speaker offered utilisation of services of Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services for capacity building of Parliamentary Staff.
Lifaka and Asad Qaiser agreed for opening of diplomatic missions in Islamabad and Yaounde (Cameroon) which would contribute towards enhancing cooperation in technological, trade and agriculture sectors.-PR
