The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has provisionally collected Rs 3333 billion during July-May (2018-19) against the assigned target of Rs 3,758 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs 425 billion. The FBR has provisionally collected Rs 340 billion during May 2019 against monthly target of Rs 413.460 billion, showing a shortfall of over Rs 73 billion.
Another FBR official said that the FBR had provisionally collected Rs 320 billion till Friday evening and an amount of Rs 20 billion is in the pipeline for clearance. Therefore, the expected collection would reach Rs 340 billion after compilation of final revenue collection figures in the next 8-10 days.
