HAMBURG/DUBAI: Jordan's state grains buyer purchased 60,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins in a tender for up to 120,000 tonnes, which closed on Tuesday, traders said.

The wheat was bought at $271.50 a tonne c&f for shipment in the first half of April.

The Seller was trading house CHS.

Three other companies took part in the tender: Cerealcom Dolj offered $272 a tonne c&f, Ameropa offered $274.75 a tonne c&f and Nibulon $276 a tonne c&f.

Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in recent months after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses, though some recent tenders had been more successful.

A separate tender from Jordan to purchase 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley closes on Wednesday.
