CM reviews performance of E&T department

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the concerned officials that owners of automobiles having a receipt of the Excise & Taxation department should not be asked about the number plates. The CM stated this while presiding over a meeting at his office, here on Friday in which the performance of Excise & Taxation department along with the reasons for the delay in issuance of number plates came under discussion.
Addressing the meeting, the CM said that he was well aware that due to lack of number plates of vehicles and motorcycles, the people were facing difficulties. He directed that vehicle owners and motorcyclists should not be disturbed without any reason as long as the process of issuance of number plates is not started and the persons having a receipt of Excise department should not be asked about the number plates. The police have been issued instructions as well, he added. He said that reasons for the delay in issuance of number plates should be identified and speedy steps would be taken by identifying the solution so that the delay could be redressed. He further directed that system of issuance of number plates should be made easy.
