Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that construction of five million houses is a flagship project of the PTI government which will fulfil the dream of low-income families. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting which was held here on Wednesday to review the performance of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency as well as progress on Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
Provincial ministers Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed and Hashim Jawan Bakht, Punjab Chief Secretary, P&D chairman, provincial secretaries and others attended the meeting. On the occasion, the Chief Minister directed to expedite work on the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme and added that its scope will be expanded to other cities of the province in phases.
"In the first phase, houses will be constructed in Lodhran, Chishtian and Renala Khurd while Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha and Chiniot will be included in the second phase. Foundation stone of the first phase of Naya Pakistan Housing Programme will be laid soon. Providing shelter to the shelter-less is in the PTI's manifesto," he added.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister was briefed that identification of new sites in Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar and Lahore is in the process.
