Two persons have been died and eight injured beside damages to 31 houses during the recent torrential rains and snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, confirmed Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). On the special directives of the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the Director General (DG) PDMA, Pervez Khan has directed the Deputy Commissioners of the rain and snowfall affected districts for provision of speedy relief to the affectees of the districts concerned.
The DG PDMA also visited Budhni nullah to inspect the protective wall of the nullah and issued directives for its speedy completion. During the visit, he was accompanied by Director Relief, Iftikhar Ahmad Marwat, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Town-II, Hamayun Khan Deputy Director PDMA, Ashfaq Ahmad and members of the Volunteer Society.
The DG PDMA has also issued directives to all units of District Disaster Management Units for provision of relief to affectees with immediate effect. Meanwhile, on the directives of the DG PDMA, the Assistant Commissioner, Wari, district Dir Upper has distributed relief goods among the affectees.
Similarly, he also directed the authorities concerned for the opening of roads in Chitral, Buner and Abbottabad that were closed due to snowfall. PDMA had already sent an official communiqué to all districts for taking protective steps amid the forecast of rains and snowfall.
