Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday took suo motu notice to ten Independent Power Producers (IPP) for excessive payments made to them. The Chief Justice proceeding with multiple public interest cases observed that the billions of rupees payments made to the IPPs had boosted the circular debt of the country. The Chief Justice issued notices to the IPPs, and fixed the case for hearing today (Sunday).
