It is a great pleasure and honor for me to write this message on this very happy centenary celebration of Kharadar General Hospital. The journey started in 1918 with domiciliary health services for mothers and children of Lyari. In 1936, maternity services were started and the hospital became known for high quality services. This was made possible with the generous donations of philanthropic Hindu families.
Over the last 25 years the Hospital has made phenomenal progress starting with Neonatal and Pediatric Services, General Medicine, Surgery, ENT, Eye, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Cardiology and Neurology etc. Credit goes to Mr. M. Bashir JanMohammad and his family for phenomenal leadership and very generous financial contribution over the last two decades of tremendous progress.
The Hospital is now also a teaching institution for doctors and nurses. I would like to congratulate the principal & faculty of KGH School of Nursing. The progress of KGH School of Nursing is tremendous under the dedicated leadership of principal Ms. Talat Shah with the students getting excellent results.
Here I would like to mention the dedicated and untiring services of Dr. Khalid Iqbal as the CEO of the Hospital. I would like to pay special tribute to Ms. Hamda Baig for her dedicated 50 years of service as administrator. I am very pleased to have been a part of this glorious journey for the last 30 years.
