HAMBURG: South Korea's Korea Corn Processing Industry Association (KOCOPIA) purchased about 60,000 tonnes of corn to be sourced from the United States in an international tender on Friday, European traders said.
It was bought at $212.35 a tonne c&f including the surcharge for additional port unloading. The seller was Korean trading house Posco-Daewoo.
It was for arrival around Feb. 15, 2019.
Shipment was between Dec. 20, 2018, and Jan. 10, 2019, if sourced from the US Gulf or between Jan. 10 and Jan. 30, 2019, if sourced from the US Pacific Northwest coast.
South Korea's largest feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc. (NOFI) also purchased about 138,000 tonnes of corn in an international tender which closed on Friday.
