Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has hailed the substantial reduction in the prices of petroleum products describing it a wise step. MCCI President Fareed Mughis A Sheikh said it was a good decision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reducing prices of petroleum products.
He demanded of the government to take steps for overcoming the power crisis due to unscheduled gas and power loadshedding as it has become impossible for the industrialists to meet the export targets. Sheikh said the government has won the hearts of the people by reducing the prices of petroleum products. He said substantial decrease in the prices of petroleum items was a New Year gift of government to the people.
He said reduction in the prices of petroleum products once again augured well however its benefits should directly reach the masses and measures should be taken for reducing prices of essential items in proportion to the decrease in the rates of petroleum products while transport fares should also be reduced at the same rate. He said institutions concerned should work in a co-ordinated manner for providing relief to the citizens.
