Shares on Wednesday staged a comeback on the Lahore Stock Exchange by gaining amid a sluggish trading trend. The LSE-25 index lost 15.94 points to 5,385.59 points against 5401.53 points of Tuesday while the transaction volume squeezed to 21,200 shares as compared to the previous volume of 114,200. The market witnessed fluctuations till the close of trading.
Those helping the market sentiments were the Ferozsons Laboratories, Highnoon Laboratories, Hascol Petroleum, PPL, OGDC, Sui Northern, Power Cement and Pak Elektron. While those coming under pressure were the MCB Bank, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Byco Petroleum, Dewan Cement and Silk Bank. But it was the Ferozsons Laboratories which gained Rs 56.67 while the Highnoon Laboratories and the Hascol Petroleum were up by Rs 16.69 and Rs 4.87. The MCB Bank lost Rs 2.29 while the Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim and the Byco Petroleum were down by 40 and 23-paisas. Yet, it was the Byco Petroleum with trading of 8500 shares that topped all, followed by the Sui Northern with 2,000.
