Rice prices higher on grain market

Rice and some other commodities were higher on the wholesale grain market on Monday in the process of modest trading, dealer said. On rice sector, Irri-9 Sindh gained Rs 400 to Rs 3500-3600, Basmati/D-98-Shahdadkot followed same pattern, picking up Rs 100 to Rs 4200-4300, they said.
On the cereals side, Moong Punjab appreciated by Rs 500 to Rs 10750, Moong Afghan, however, lost Rs 350 to Rs 12250, brokers said. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh new low type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1950 while the good type was unchanged at Rs 2150, they said. Not a single variation was seen on the grams side, they added.
