In recognition of the commitment to global standards for information security best practices, Fauji Fertiliser Company Ltd has become one of the first organisations in fertiliser industry in Pakistan to achieve ISO 27001:2013 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS) under the leadership of Dr Mukhtar Hussain, CIO Fauji Fertiliser Company Ltd.
According to an announcement of the company here on Tuesday, SGS (UKAS accreditation body) carried out an extensive audit and recognised ISMS of IS Division in line with the requirements of the ISO 27001:2013 standard. For this achievement, FFC Information Systems Division also shows its gratitude to ITnIS Consulting for providing consultancy for ISMS certification process. FFC received its official certificate of registration in December 2015 having a validity period of three years.
As a result of the achievement of this milestone, Fauji Fertiliser Company Ltd is now able to systematically identify and combat an entire range of potential threats and risks to its information assets. It has further strengthened its commitment to providing its stake holders with the necessary levels of assurance regarding the way the information is managed and secured, it added.-PR
