As many as 20 children sustained injuries when roof of under construction religious seminary was collapsed, here on Thursday. According to police and rescue sources, the incident took place in densely populated locality of New Karachi's Sector 4J when the students were busy in studies inside the room. Following the incident heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies and rescue teams rushed to the site, and started rescue work removed debris and recovered all students alive.
As many as 15 injured students were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment, whereas some five others went to their homes after receiving first aid on the spot. The police said that inferior/substandard material was used in the structure.
