The Director of Japan Information and Culture Centre, Counsel for Cultural and Public Affairs Mitsuaki Tosa called on Professor Dr Abida Taherani, Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh in her office on Monday. During the meeting, various avenues of cooperation between the university and consulate-General were discussed and it was agreed in principle that the consulate will extend its cooperation to Sindh University to encourage its ongoing research on various aspects of Japan being carried out at Far East and South East Asia Centre, University of Sindh.
It was also agreed to sort out the possibilities of fellowships, scholarships and short visits to Japan by researchers of the university and establishing a network for providing more awareness to people of Sindh about education in Japanese universities. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor presented Ajrak and Sindhi Topi to the guest. Professor Hamadullah Kakepoto, Director, Far East and South East Asia Center, University of Sindh briefed the meeting about research projects.
