On Thursday, at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), value traded was PKR 6,675 million as compared to PKR 5,626 million reported on Wednesday, an increase of 19 percent. The number of lots traded also increased by 19 percent to 41.243 million from 34.59 million. PMEX Commodity Index increased by 0.14 percent and closed at 2,493.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 5,678 million, a 12 percent increase when compared to the previous trading day. This was followed by crude oil (PKR 952.23 million), silver (PKR 44.26 million) and cotton (PKR 1.32 million).
