Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) on Wednesday signed an agreement for promoting Information Technology (IT) services. The accord signing ceremony held at the SMIU auditorium was attended, among others, by IBA director and former governor of State Bank of Pakistan Dr Ishrat Hussain and SMIU's vice chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ishrat Hussain said that whenever he visited SMIU it gave him great inspiration. "This great institute distinguishes its students to others," he remarked. He exhorted students not to give preference to GPA and grades over acquiring knowledge as it would the knowledge that would help them in achieving success in their profession and practical life.
He said that the sense of commitment and feeling of compassion are the two key factors for success. He advised the students of rural areas to help their brothers and sisters in acquiring education and similarly those residing in cities should assist students coming from rural areas as well as those living slum areas. In his welcome address, SMIU vice chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh said that with the signing the agreement, both the institutions - IBA and SMIU - have become partner for promoting IT facilities.
