In 10 operations, detained 12 including 2 foreigners & seized 5 vehicles. ANF in its drive against drug trafficking launched 10 operations at Taxila, Attock, Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar, Karachi and Pishin. The operations resulted recovery of huge cache of drugs including 2.6 Tons Opium, 175 kg charas, 5.7 Kg Heroin and 500 Grams Methamphetamine (Ice).
ANF also detained 12 persons including 2 Nepalese nationals involved in smuggling of drugs and impounded 5 vehicles. The worth of recovered drugs is approximately Rs 3.93Billion in International Market. Most of the recovered drugs were destined abroad. ANF Quetta in a successful intelligence led operation seized 2674 Kg Opium from uninhabited area of Killi Maizai, Tehsil Saranan, District Pishin. According to details, the drug was concealed at a desolate site in the cuttings of mountainous terrain far away from the populated area. Drug was stuffed in large number of plastic sacks. As per initial reports, the drug consignment was placed at a cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang. Reportedly, the consignment was finally bound for some foreign location across the sea. ANF Rawalpindi on information intercepted a passenger van near Haji Shah Mor, GT Road, Attock and arrested 2 passengers along with recovery of 3 Kg Heroin and 500 Gram Methamphetamine (Ice). The accused were identified as Nazeef Ullah resident of Charsada and Muhammad Sadiq resident of Peshawar. As per reports, they intended to supply the drug to a local drug distributor at Rawalpindi.
ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team on pursuance of an information, captured a Toyota Hiace registered No J-3751 near Mullah Mansoor Toll Plaza GT Road Attock. During search of the vehicle, 2 Kg Heroin was recovered from secret cavities of the vehicle. During the operation, an accused occupant of the vehicle Muhammad Aayaz resident of Khyber Agency. As per preliminary information, he was heading towards Rawalpindi for delivery of drugs to a local paddler.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested a drug trafficker named Khan Zeb resident of Peshawar while riding on a motorcycle near Nazim CNG Station GT road Taxila. His arrest resulted in recovery of 1 Kg Charas, found in his personal possession. ANF Lahore, Sialkot Team arrested an accused namely Ajab Ali resident of Hassanabdal, Attock, presently living in Sheikhupura and recovered 1.2 Kg Charas from his personal possession. He was arrested from Sialkot City. Reportedly, the accused smuggled the drugs from KP and intended to deliver to a local drug peddler at Sialkot City.
ANF Peshawar Airport Team held a passenger, identified as Sher Alam resident of Charsada and recovered 680 Gram Heroin, which was concealed in his trolley bag. He was boarding for Taif via Doha by Qatar Airlines. ANF Peshawar while acting on tip-off, intercepted a Cultus Car near Army Public School, Warsak Road, Peshawar and recovered 33.6 Kg Charas concealed in secret cavities of the car. A person on board was also arrested during the operation. As per reports, the drugs were being transported to Punjab for local consumption. ANF Peshawar detained a motorcyclist namely Imran Afridi resident of Peshawar near Hyper Mall Ring Road Peshawar and recovered 2.2 Kg Charas from his personal custody.
ANF Karachi Airport Team during routine checking at Jinnah International Airport, apprehended 2 Nepalese Nationals named Sajan Waiba Tamang and a lady Manu Tamangni on suspicion of ingested heroin filled capsules. During interrogation, they confessed of having gulped heroin filled capsules. ANF Karachi Road Check on pursuance of an intelligence report, seized a passenger bus Registered No TKS-568 near Hub Check Post. Detail search of the bus resulted in seizure of 137 Kg Charas.-PR
