Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company Chairman SM Tanveer has said the Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate will start working by August this year. "The 450-acre industrial estate in Rahim Yar Khan is near completion and it will initially be supplied with six megawatts of electricity for industrial activity," he added.
The Punjab chief minister laid down the estate's foundation stone in February 2012. He said, "The Company has registered robust growth during 2010 to 2015 under the dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. From two incomplete industrial estates (Sundar & Multan) and debt burden of Rs 1 billion in 2009, the company has progressed rapidly to become financially self sustaining and taken on the challenge of starting seven new mega projects while completing the Sundar and Multan Industrial Estates simultaneously. The company has achieved sustainability because of transparency and accountability, better financial management, improved corporate practices, enhanced industrialisation through colonisation drive and strategic vision for development of industrial estates under the chief minister's dynamic leadership.
