Hundreds of thousands fasting people sat in Itikaf in mosques on Tuesday after Asr prayers to sit in seclusion for the remaining ten days of Ramadan for the purpose of worshiping Allah Almighty. The managing committees of thousands of mosques in the provincial capital had made arrangements to accommodate maximum people desirous of sitting in Itikaf till sighting of Eidul Fitr moon.
Badshahi Masjid, Masjid Wazir Khan, Data Darbar mosque are one of the choicest places for the devotees to sit in Itikaf from all over the Punjab. Data Darbar committee has listed 2,300 people by ballot to sit in Itikaf. Minhajul Quran secretariats has established Itikaf city 2015 for more than 15,000 fasting people to sit in Itikaf. Separate arrangements have been made for the female participants of Itikaf City.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver his special addresses to the participants of Itikaf City after every Fajr prayer daily. Stringent security arrangements have been made. 2000 workers of Mustafavi Students Movement and Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League will also perform security duties.
