Government of Sindh is organising LDFA since 2011. LDFA 2015 is aimed at promoting Sindh's Livestock products and facilitating its access to local, regional and international markets. The LDFA Event has a local character, reflective of Sindh's traditional lifestyle and prominent Livestock & Cattle breeds available in Sindh.
We are here to serve people of Sindh and no commercial entity can bring this kind of festivity, exposure and true depiction of investment opportunities in Sindh as you have witnessed here in LDFA 2015.
The main objectives of the event are to bring government and investors on a single platform for the development of Livestock sector and produce exportable surplus by introducing state of the art facilities for Livestock, Dairy and Poultry. LDFA 2015 is expected to open new avenues of investment in Livestock Dairy and Poultry sectors of Sindh. Livestock Department, Government of Sindh has worked closely with SBI to organise this grand event to showcase true potential of Sindh. LDFA 2015 is also aimed to create awareness among the masses about the huge potential of Livestock product and its derivatives. Livestock, Dairy and Poultry sector have huge potential which so far have not been explored to its optimum level.
Entrepreneurial mindset is essential for industrial development and economic activity. As part of the Government's pro-investment strategy, Livestock Department has conceived a mega project for Public Private Partnership in the Livestock Sector. The Project is aimed at Establishment of a Dairy Village and Processing Zone for Meat Animals near the port city of Karachi. The site is to be established over 1300 acres with a provision of 1200 acres reserved for expansion.
With an animal population of over 50 million, Pakistan suffers from low productivity compared to global players. Pakistan has three times the quantity of animals than Germany but yields one fifth of Germany's and one third of New Zealand's animals representing a significant loss in potential economic and social values. Proper progress was not possible without export. The huge gap between Sindh's aquaculture, livestock, dairy and agriculture production and the capacity to process the same provide opportunities for various types of investments in value addition.
One of the major highlight and point of attraction at LDFA-2015 is Horse and Cattle Show. The major purpose of the Horse and Cattle Show is to provide a medium to showcase beautiful and rare species of Cattle and Horses available in Sindh. Hundreds of animals are brought into the event from various parts of the Province of Sindh. I am ensure that the Horses and Cattles gathered huge attention from the visitors especially Families with Children.
