Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Tuesday noted that Pakistan-US co-operation is heading in the right direction especially in defence, economy and energy sectors.
He stated this while talking to US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Daniel Feldman who called on him here at the Foreign Office, accompanied by Ambassador Richard Olson.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah, the discussions covered Pakistan-US bilateral relations and the regional situation.
During the meeting, he said that the adviser underscored the comprehensive measures taken by Pakistan to counter terrorism and extremism. He also briefed the visiting US top diplomat about the improvement in Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan and the current status of relations with India.
About the bilateral relations between Pakistan and United States, the spokesperson said that the Adviser noted the positive direction of ongoing co-operation between the two countries especially in the areas of defence, economy and energy sectors.
Ambassador Daniel Feldman expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by Pakistan in efforts to root out terrorism and extremism and successes achieved so far.
