The Lahore High Court on Monday ordered the NA speaker and the Senate chairman to respond within fortnight to a petition seeking contempt proceedings against them for failing to comply with the court's order on amendments in some Articles of the Constitution against the junction of Islam. Petitioner Iqtidar Haider Shah said NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani never decided on his petition seeking the amendment of Article 248, 45 and 263 of the Constitution being against the junction of Islam.
The petitioner also said that on July 23, 2014, a court had ordered both to hear him and decide his petition but they never bothered.
