Facilitating taxes' collection: banks to remain open late on December 31

State Bank of Pakistan asked banks to open branches concerned on December 31 till such time that is necessary to facilitate special clearing only for FBR collections. According to the SBP circular issued on Tuesday in terms of Federal Board of Revenue request and to facilitate the collection of Government taxes, the NIFT will provide special clearing facility on the advice of the SBP on December 31, 2014 (Wednesday) at 5:00 pm.
Banks are, therefore advised to keep their branches concerned open on December 31, 2014 (Wednesday) till such time that is necessary to facilitate special clearing only for FBR collections, it added.
