People started returning back to twin cities after enjoying Eid at their hometown with their families to avoid rush on last days of the long holiday break. This year people enjoyed four days official holidays announced by the government for Eid besides two more days of weekend giving people an opportunity to get rid of the monotonous routine life.
However, most of the private organisations also announced (Monday), the last working day before Eid an off day for their employees so that people can club the back and forth weekend with Eid holidays and enjoy a nine day long break. The bus stands were seemed over crowded since morning and people with huge bags were looking for transport to reach their destinations.
Asad Zahir, an employee of a Non-Government Organisation said, last week on Friday he left for his hometown Layyah with his family to spend last days of Ramzan with his parents and making the Eid festival a memorable occasion with his near and dear one. "We spend six marvellous days with my siblings and parents and today came back to home to see our friends, colleagues and relatives here in Capital", he said.
Asma Asad, his wife shared that she want to give some time to her home for completing her work like cleaning home, washing and ironing clothes, before starting the normal routine on coming Monday so they decided to come back on Thursday. Adnan Ali, a student of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) said, "Our holidays started from last Thursday as the university has also announced last Friday and Monday off days so it was a 10 days break for them.
He said that he spend a week at Gilgit (his hometown) and now came back to have fun with his friends who are constantly calling him to join their tourism adventures. Saleem Faisal, a resident of Sattelite Town said, "My children are complaining since start of their summer vacations to give them time and plan a visit of hilly areas but due to severe hot weather followed by Ramzan, it was not possible". This long Eid break is a big feast for us, he said adding, it provided enough time to fulfil their demand and go to Northern Areas so that they can witness the picaresque beauty of our country.
