The Karachi Port handled 128,735 tonnes of cargo comprising 82,791 tonnes of import cargo and 45,944 tonnes of export cargo including 28 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 82,791 tonnes comprised of 11,036 tonnes of containerised cargo; 862 tonnes of general cargo; 28,635 tonnes of bulk cargo: 18,077 tonnes of coal; 7,625 tonnes of soyabean meal; 2,933 tonnes of DAP and 42,258 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 45,944 tonnes comprised of 32,084 tonnes of containerised cargo; 582 tonnes of general cargo; 4,578 tonnes of bulk cargo: and 482 tonnes of cement; 4,096 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 8,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 28 containers comprising nil containers import and 28 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows nil of 20's and nil 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 10 of 20's and 6 of 40's loaded containers while 2 of 20's and 2 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were nine ships namely APL Sydney, Hyundai Confidence, Lissy Schulte, Santa Rosa, Al Mahboobah, Ocean Jupiter, MT Lahore, Galveston Highway and Heilan Song carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicles and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were eight vessels viz. Front Avon, Meli, KN Forest, Good Trade, Somerset, Galveston Highway Kontantions and Union Emma carrying oil tankers, coal, cement, vehicles, fertilizer and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There was one ship namely Front Avon carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea on Monday, while two ships namely Meli and Somerset carrying oil tanker and cement are expected to sail on Tuesday.
There were seven vessels viz. Hanjin Indigo, YM Elixir, Pona, MOL Direction, MT Quetta, MT Karachi and Sea Crystal carrying containers, oil tankers and chemical respectively due to arrive on Monday, while two vessels viz. Kota Kasturi and APJ Shirin carrying containers and DAP respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 74,112 tonnes comprising 50,742 tonnes of import cargo and 23,370 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,860 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 50,742 tonnes includes 4,000 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,600 tonnes of edible oil; 6,790 tonnes of chemical; 1,382 tonnes of coke and 30,970 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 23,370 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,860 containers comprising 1,630 containers import and 1,230 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There was one ship namely MT Caribbean Orchid with edible oil sailed out sea on Monday morning, while five ships namely CV Maersk Detroit, CV MSC Messina, CV MSC Albany, MV Sea Crystal and MV Ocean Breeze with containers, chemical and coke are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Maersk Detroit, CV MSC Messina, CV MSC Albany, MV Sea Crystal, MV Ocean Breeze, MT Caribbean Orchid, and MT Al Khalidiah currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, chemical, coke, edible oil and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as four ships namely Pona, AL Gurdabia, Maersk Milkag and Asia Glory with containers, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were four vessels viz. CV Pona, CV Safmarine Ngami, MV Rickmer Dubai and MT Asia Glory carrying containers, general cargo and palm oil expected to took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There are no ships due to arrive on Monday.
