Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Friday, and slipped for the week.

The CSE All Share index settled down 0.33% at 20,812.64, and fell 1.07% over the week.

SMB Finance PLC and Eastern Merchants PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 8.3% and 4.8%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 29.9 million shares from 65.4 million in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover fell to 873.4 million Sri Lankan rupees ($2.64 million) from 1.43 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 183.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 829.9 million rupees, the data showed.
