Dar welcomes progress in US-Iran deal during talks with Egyptian, Turkish counterpart

Pakistan, Egypt, and Türkiye's FMs welcomed US-Iran talks, seeing it as a positive step towards regional peace and stability.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Egypt and Türkiye, during which the leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and welcomed encouraging progress towards an understanding between the United States and Iran.

According to the Foreign Office, Dar spoke with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, including progress in US-Iran talks.

Both leaders expressed hope that the positive developments would contribute to lasting peace, security and stability across the region and agreed to remain in close contact.

In a separate call, Dar held discussions with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the regional situation.

The two leaders welcomed the progress towards an understanding between Washington and Tehran and voiced optimism that it would pave the way for durable peace and stability in the region.

The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt and Turkiye also agreed to maintain close coordination and remain in contact regarding further developments.

On Saturday, Dar also discussed the regional developments in a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
