Treet launches lithium-ion battery products amid solar rush in Pakistan

  • With 33 gigawatts of solar installed, Treet Battery introduces "Lithion NeoPower" to power Pakistan's growing alternative energy sector

Treet Battery Limited, a Pakistani battery maker, has launched its lithium-ion battery product line as it seeks to tap growing demand for modern energy storage solutions in both residential and commercial markets.

“We are pleased to announce that Treet Battery Limited has launched its lithium-ion battery product line under the brand ‘Lithion NeoPower’, marking an important step in the company’s continued focus on innovation, product diversification and advanced energy storage solutions,” read a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.

The company shared that its product line includes modern battery energy storage solutions, comprising Residential Energy Storage System Series and Lead-Acid Replacement Series, which offer a lithium battery solution designed to replace traditional lead-acid batteries.

“This launch complements the company’s existing battery business and is expected to strengthen its product portfolio, enabling the company to cater to the growing demand for reliable, efficient and future-ready energy storage solutions across residential and commercial sectors,” it added.

Earlier this year, the company announced it is entering Pakistan’s fast-growing lithium-ion battery segment.

“We’ve partnered with a major Chinese manufacturer to launch lithium-ion batteries plus inverters—about five SKUs across different sizes, including tower and wall-mounted solutions,” said Syed Sheharyar Ali, CEO of Treet Corporation Limited, in an interview with BR Research.

There has been a growing shift towards alternative energy sources in Pakistan, especially solar, which has become increasingly popular among residential and commercial sectors.

According to Policy Research Institute for Equitable Development (PRIED), an independent think tank, Pakistan is experiencing unprecedented solarisation of its energy sector, with solar photovoltaic (PV) panels with a capacity of 33 gigawatts already installed across the country.
