There is a very good news in relation to Iran. But it is not related to the current geopolitical situation in the region or the Middle East conflict in the real sense of the word.
It is about sports. Iran has reportedly said that it is fully prepared for its national football team’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosted in the US. Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani has reportedly said that the Ministry of Sports and Youth has ensured all necessary arrangements for the team’s participation.
According to media reports, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said last week that Iran is expected to participate in the World Cup, set for June 11 to July.
No doubt it’s a huge good news. It is also heartening to note that not only has the US President announced an extension of the ceasefire in the war on Iran, Pakistan has also stepped up its efforts aimed at bringing Iran back to the negotiating table.
