ISLAMABAD: The founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan Wednesday said a pre-planned malicious attempt was made to crush his party through a false flag operation a year ago on May 09.
In a message from jail in connection with May 9 riots, he said that if someone thinks that the facts could be distorted through blind misuse of state machinery, he is living in a fool’s paradise.
“The reality of May 9 has become clear to the nation as it was a pre-planned conspiracy to crush the PTI,” he declared. He continued that the nation should be told that “on whose orders, the armed militia, wearing uniforms of paramilitary forces, kidnapped me from the premises of Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 09, 2023”.

“The nation should be told on whose directives the CCTV footages of his kidnapping were stolen,” he questioned, adding, “On whose directives, the security deployed at the Corps Commander House in Lahore was withdrawn”. He said that he was kidnapped on the pattern of March 24, 1971, when the then president Yahya Khan launched a full-fledged military operation in West Pakistan by intentionally sabotaging the talks.
“A crackdown was launched against my party workers and leaders and I want to know who gave these orders? There exists no democracy in the country as it’s a complete fraud under the pretext of democracy,” he regretted. The ex-prime minister recalled that when the former chief justice Umar Atta Bandial ordered elections in Punjab, he was intimidated through protest demonstrations outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
He said that the caretaker prime minister Anwaar Kakar validated his party’s stance of massive rigging in the February 08 general elections by warning a PML-N lawmaker to “stay quiet or he would spill the beans how they made the government through Forms 47s”.
“The letter by six IHC judges and the statement by commissioner Rawalpindi are some of the things which have badly exposed the poll rigging and how people’s mandate was stolen in broad daylight,” he added.
He continued that it was all done under the nefarious London Plan which had three major objectives. First, they wanted to put me behind the bars. Second, they wanted to clear Nawaz Sharif from all graft cases. And third, they wanted to crush the PTI. Despite ban on media, he added, the worst wheat scandal is out, which is like crushing the farmers as they are not being given their due rights.
