KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 93,254 tonnes of cargo comprising 62,594 tonnes of import cargo and 30,660 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 Hours.

The total import cargo of 62,594 comprised of 19,164 tonnes of Containerized Cargo and 43,430 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 30,660 tonnes comprised of 28,630 tonnes of containerized cargo and 2,030 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 4666 containers comprising of 1613 containers import and 3053 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 259 of 20’s and 648 of 40’s loaded while 56 of 20’s and 01 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 328 of 20’s and 732 of 40’s loaded containers while 09 of 20’s and 626 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Nearly 06 ships namely, Kota Naluri, MT Karachi, TRF Kirkenes, YM Excellence, Horin Trader and Thorswind have berth at Karachi Port.

Some 04 ships namely, SCF Alpine, TS Singapore, Oriental Daphne, Oriental Tulip, Diyala and Apl Oregon have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 11 cargoes namely Frona, Al Shaffiah, DM Jade, Oel Dedarnath, Ever Dainty, Liberty Peace, Poseidon Leader, Sar Cleo, Blue Arihabara, Kota Padang and Grace were expected to arrive at the port.

PORT QASIM

A total of seven ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, a container vessel ‘MSC Julie’ left the port on Tuesday morning, while three more ships, Nord Bering, Silver Ebalina, and Norstar Interpid are expected to sail from PIBT, LCT and FOTCO on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 105,953, tonnes, comprising 89,361 tonnes imports cargo and 16,592 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 3,675 Containers (2,699 TEUs Imports and 976 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

There are 12 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them five ships, Savger, Gas Amazon, Glory Harvest, Al-Thakhira and Argo-1& three more ships, Liberty Harvest, MSC Charleston and Maersk Hartford carrying Gas oil, Petroleum gas, Natural gas, Steel coil, General Cargo and Containers are expected to take berths FOTCO, EVTL, SSGC, FOTCO, PGPCL, MW-1, MW-2 and QICT on Tuesday, 28th December, while two more ships, X-Press Bardsey and Safliya with Container and Natural gas are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday, 29th December-2021.
