Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 168,408 tonnes of cargo comprising 81,125 tonnes of import cargo and 87,283 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Tuesday.

The total import cargo of 81,125 comprised of 36,153 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 2,520 tonnes of Soya Bean Seeds, 8080 tonnes of Wheat and 34,372 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 87,283 tonnes comprised of 54,799 tonnes of containerized cargo, 6,083 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 12,649 tonnes of Clinkers, 11,352 tonnes of Talc Powder and 2,400 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

Nearly, 7857 containers comprising of 2781 containers import and 5076 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 535 of 20’s and 1036 of 40’s loaded while 46 of 20’s and 64 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1002 of 20’s and 1311 of 40’s loaded containers while 216 of 20’s and 618 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

As many as 07 ships namely, Kota Naluri, Annita, New Hellas, Worldera 1, Prague Express, SSI Glorious and Energy Panther have berth at Karachi Port.

About 09 ships namely, Kai Xuan 11, Chemocean Leo, Singapore Bridge, Topaz Express, Dalian Express, Emirates Zanzibar, Diyala, Kota Naluri and Ital Unica have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Approximately, 09 SG Pegasus, Hyundai Colombo, SSL Brahmaputra, Liberty Passion, HSC Erminia, Independent, Kota Padang and Aruna ECE were expected to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM

PQA berths were engaged by 10 ships during the last 24 hours, out of them, a container vessel ‘MSC Susanna’ left the port on Tuesday morning, while three more ships, Al-Bahiya, Seago Piraeus and Green Winch Pioneer are expected to sail from EETL, QICT and FAP on today in the afternoon .

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 164,044 tonnes, comprising 119,640 tonnes imports cargo and 44,404 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,488 Containers (2,375 TEUs Imports and 2,113 TEUs export) was handled at the port.

There are 15 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them two ships, Maersk Seletar and Xin Chang Shu & another ship MSC Patnaree-III carrying Containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminals on Tuesday, 30th November-2021.
