KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 169,204 tonnes of tonnes comprising 130,098 tonnes of import cargo and 39,106 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Monday. The total import cargo of 130,098 comprised of 80,116 tonnes of containerized cargo, 3,368 tonnes of Sugar, 2,136 tonnes of Wheat, 44,478 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,106 tonnes comprised of 30,312 tonnes of containerized cargo, 1,209 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 7,585 tonnes of Rice. As many as, 8796 containers comprising of 5611 containers import and 3185 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1937 of 20's and 1709 of 40's loaded while 00 of 20's and 128 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 792 of 20's and 430 of 40's loaded containers while 201 of 20's and 666 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Some 09 ships namely, Msc Erminia, MT Karachi, Thorswind, Bravely Loyalty, Xin Pu Dong, Arahan, MT Bolan, Ganta Bhum and Tarlan have berth at Karachi port. Nearly 06 ships namely, Kmtc Mundra, Thorswind, Sagarjeet, Xin Pu Dong, Kronos and Long Beach Trader have sailed out from Karachi Port.
About Hansa Roternburg, Osaka Express, Xin Yan Tian, Szczechin Trader, Agapis, Tomini integrity and Chemroad Orchid were expected to arrive on the same day.
PORT QASIM
Meanwhile three more ships, MSC Rita, IOL Cos Legacy and Al-Shamal with Containers, Canola seeds and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of the port during last 24 hours.
PQA berths were engaged by 11 ships during the last 24 hours, out of a them a container vessel 'CMA CGM Cendrillion' left the port on Monday morning, while three more ships, Chemroad Journey, Bi Jia Shan and African Sanderling are expected to sail from LCT, FAP and MW-4 on today in the afternoon.
Cargo throughput of 200,663 tonnes, comprising 182,848 tonnes imports cargo and 17,815 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,367 Containers (3,367 TEUs Imports and 1,000 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 14 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them four ships, MSC Rita, Pacific Wealth, Wawasan Blue Fin and Al-Shmal & another ship Rhapsody carrying Containers, Coal, Palm oil, Natural gas and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4, LCT, EETL and EVTL respectively on Monday, 15th November, while two three more container ships, MSC Denisse, MSC Rachele and Maersk Nile are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 16th November-2021.
