KARACHI: As many as 5022 containers comprising of 2201 containers import and 2821 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 647 of 20’s and 772 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 05 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 621 of 20’s and 262 of 40’s loaded containers while 144 of 20’s and 766 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

PORT QASIM

A total of ten ships were engaged to load/offload Containers, Rice, Coal, Soya bean, Chemicals, LPG, Palm oil and Mogas, out of them, three Container ships, Glen Canyon, MSC Paris and Seago Bremerhaven sailed out to sea on Tuesday (today) morning, and five more ships, N-Amalthia, Prosperity, Al-Karama, East Wind-1 and Chang Young are expected to sail from FAP, LCT, MW-1 and EVTL on same day in the afternoon .

Cargo Throughput during last 24 hour stood at 130,325 tonnes, comprising 99,238 tonnes imports cargo and 31,087 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,809 Containers (2,341 TEUs imports and 1,468 TEUs export), was handled at the port.

There are twenty five ships are currently at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim and waiting for berths, out of them six ships, Tai Summit, IVS Hirano, Boa Run, New Victory, Bulk Greece and Tivoli Park, & another ship Seamax Greenwich scheduled to load/offload Cement, Coal, Soya bean, Chemicals and Containers are expected take berths at MW-2, MW-4, PIBT, PQEPT, FAP, EVTL and QICT on Tuesday (today), 27th July 2021, while another ship ‘CMA CGM Cendrillon’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day.
