KARACHI: On the first day after Eid holidays, PKR recorded losses against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also went down against Euro by more than one rupee in open market.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 40 paisas for both buying and selling against USD closing at 152.60 and 152.70 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 30 paisas for buying and 40 paisas for selling closing at 152.70 and 153.20 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 1.50 rupees for both buying and selling closing at 184 and 185.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for buying while losing 5 paisas for selling closing at 41.25 and 41.60 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 40.35 and 40.65 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: As the local currency market commenced trading after Ei-dul-Fitr holidays, the Pak rupee showed strength and closed on a positive note in the process of trading against the greenback on Sunday.

Due to decrease in the buying spree on the first trading session after Eid, the greenback remained under selling pressure throughout the trading session and closed for buying and selling at Rs 152.70 and Rs 153.80 against the previous closing rate of Rs 152.80 and Rs 154.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.

On the other hand, the national currency sharply declined its worth versus the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 214.30 and Rs 216.00 against the last closing trend of Rs 211.50 and Rs 213.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 30 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs153.80(buying) and Rs 153.90(selling) against last rate of Rs153.50(buying) and Rs 153.60(selling).

It closed at Rs153.80(buying) and Rs 153.90(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold remained Rs. 99,700 (selling) and Rs 99,500(buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
