LAHORE: Former skipper and all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez, who breached social protocols by having snap shots with public after playing golf in Southampton, has tested negative for Covid-19. "After clearing the Covid test, Hafeez joined the Pakistan cricket squad," said a spokesman for the PCB, here on Thursday.

Shahid Aslam, assistant to head coach, has also tested negative for coronavirus and joined the cricket squad. All-rounder Shoaib Malik will join the national cricket team in Southampton on 15th August, the spokesman said. On the other hand, former skipper Shahid Afridi in an interview said that batsman Babar Azam needs to become "a match winner" before he can be compared with great cricketers.
